7PM - I logged in and immediately received an IM from Mr. Sensitive
but not overly so!! Yep he is back!!
I can’t believe this jerk writing me again!! Is he stalking me?!
I am thinking that since I did not reply to his previous crazy email
ranting, it must be bugging him and he wants to start a fight with me.
Won’t give in to it. What a freak but hey man thanks for the great
story!! Okay I selected to ignore to his message and on with my life!!

9PM - Talked to young guy tonight. We have made a plan to meet for
dinner on Thursday. Yea I know coffee is better but he insisted on dinner
so this unemployed girl is taking him up on his offer. I have been thinking
about age. Should there be restrictions when it comes to dating? Seems
like older women with younger men are becoming very acceptable. Just
look at Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins or Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.
My worries would be keeping a younger guy but these women seem to have
it going on. Think I might have to give it a try. Hey at least I know
he will look like his photos!

8PM - Met younger guy at designated restaurant. He was already there
waiting for me and guess what looks nothing like his photos. Apparently
he has gained weight after those photos were taken. I decided to move
past it and get to know younger guy. Well bored at dinner. He has a
habit of asking me lame silly little questions to pick my favorite then
saying cool if we match up. Favorite food, favorite band, favorite TV
show. A little is fine but he just kept going on and on with it! Honestly
noticing a difference in our ages. I think I need someone older and
more sophisticated. Realize this is the last time I want to see younger
man. He walks me to my car and lucky for me does not ask for a second
date so I said nice to meet you and drive home.
10PM - Get home and log in and apparently younger guy is on too and
tries to IM me!! I instantly logged off. Think I will just go to bed.

9AM - Received an email from younger guy that just said hi. How annoying.
What am I suppose to do with just hi?! Must be a different generation.
So I simply said hi back and he did not respond. What gives! If he had
written more than hi, I would have been able to say had a great time
but don’t see us as a match. I decide I will be a vague as him.

felt I had to write you at least once because I feel
I genuinely have most of the characteristics you are
looking for (don't ever end a sentence with a prepostition).
If nothing else I'm somewhat intellectual (3 degrees
and love to read all the time) and a hopeless romantic.
You
seem like you're pretty popular and have a busy social
life: life in the fast lane. I more laid back and
have a few good friends but do lots of activites each
week. I'm in 2 tennis leagues presently and play on
a coed bowling team which has been a blast every Thursday.
I'm
a high school math teacher and may be starting with
a new school in the fall. I've done a shi-load of
jobs in my life, everything from a limousine owner
to sale rep for the Marriott to being an engineer
way back when.
And
don't think I'm geographically undesirable because
I love to drive and my living up here is only temporary.
I reside with my best friend and his family and the
arrangement has worked out excellently. The only problem
with my friend is that he is a diehard Republican
and I'm a big fan of Hillary.
We
used to have a joke in NJ: Who is the most feared
woman in the world? Lorena Rodham Harding.
And
I also like Ted Kennedy, John Edwards, Barbara Boxer
and left wing books ("Lies and the Lying Liars
WHo Tell Them: A Fair and Balance Look at the Right.")
by people like Al Franken and Woody Allen.
Of course if you're a staucnch Republican you would
have stopped reading this by now, but I'm willing
to take my chances.
I would love to know more about you so write back
if you have the inclination.

Well I am not one to hold anyone’s political view against them
but this guy sounds a bit strange to me. I mean why ramble on about
such things in the first email? And his hair looks wildly frizzy in
his photo. I do think I will need to pass on this one.
9PM - Spoke to artistic guy guy for the first time. Painter by hobby
and advertising for his day job. Found out we both had the same Myers-Briggs
personality type indicator score (ENFP). I know you are suppose to use
this to help find the right career match for your personality type but
I am wondering if I can use this score when I am looking for my mate?
Should you date the same Myers-Briggs personality type? Anyways I had
a wonderful conversation that left me wanting to meet artistic guy only
he was leaving in the middle of the week to attend a friend’s
wedding in his home town. He said he will call when he returns so we
shall see what happens.

9PM - Tonight I spoke with numbers guy for the first time. We have
been emailing back and forth for several weeks. Now we have finally
moved to the phone. It is funny that so many of them don’t make
it to second base: the phone. The tone of his voice did not sound all
that friendly but I tried to keep an open mind (I like painter guy better).
We made a plan to meet at the bookstore for coffee on Thursday.
Thursday, September 15

1PM - Today is out of state connection’s birthday. He has gone
on a singles trip to Italy. Lucky guy! I decided to make him a happy
birthday video. I put on my sexiest outfit and sang a raspy happy birthday.
7PM - Met numbers man at the bookstore and when I arrived he was waiting
for me outside the door. He was bending down to tie his shoe. What do
you know a fit man who actually looks like his picture! A first for
me!! We went inside where I got iced coffee and he got tea and we found
a table to chat. Darn no comfy chairs available! We were sitting at
a small table across from each other and I was thinking of it as the
interrogation room although I was the one leading the questioning! There
were moments when he was just staring at me and I was wondering what
was going on.
9PM - We got up to leave only he says he has to go to the restroom.
He said that he had a good time and wanted to get together again. I
went to hug him and left the bookstore. I was a bit disappointed that
he did not at least offer to walk me to my car (gentleman thing to do).
Saturday, September 16

10AM - Got an email today from numbers guy saying that he had a good
time at the bookstore. He than proceeds to tell me about his weekend
in progress. I decided to write him back about my weekend.
9PM - Went to dinner and a movie with smug married pregnant friend.
I told her about my date with numbers guy this past week and she asks
if it is vacant man?! Oh my…she got me thinking and now I am unsure
if it is the same guy? Vacant man dated one of my friends a couple of
years ago (before I knew my friend) and let me tell you he did not seem
to have much of a personality and spoke with absolutely no inflection
in his voice. She wondered if there was anyone home?! My friend was
so bored she wanted to beat her head against the wall for something
to do. I only met him once a few years ago. Hum his last name threw
me and I found out tonight that he had changed his last name. She did
not remember his new last name. He had changed his last name because
his fiancé did not like it and well that fiancé is no
longer. I did see traces of his vacantness when he was blankly staring
at me! I need to find out if this is the same guy so I told my friend
I would scan his profile picture and send it to her.
12AM - Got home and sent the picture to my friend and called to see
if it was the same guy. Sadly she could not tell from the picture. Now
have to think who else would know and then remembered another friend
who also went out with vacant man. I emailed her the picture saying
do you recognize this guy?!

9AM - It has been confirmed from my friend that I went out with vacant
man! Can’t believe I did not recognize him! Well I will just play
it by ear as I have not heard back from vacant man. Sometimes guys just
disappear for no real reason. Who knows perhaps he is going back to
his ex-fiancé. I mean he went through all the trouble of changing
his last name because she did not like it!
8PM - Get a call from artistic guy. Yes he has returned from his friend’s
wedding and called me just like he promised - score point 1! Having
another good conversation and he asks me out for Thursday. Wow Thursday
has fast become my date night. A different guy every Thursday night!!
Artistic guy even suggests a restaurant and it is one of my favorites
- score point 2!
Wednesday, September 21

10AM - Logged in and saw the following email:
Kudos to new to the city for writing a cute and brief email letting
me know that he meets some of my criteria mentioned in my profile. He
gets an A+ on his email. I proceed to look at his photos and essay questions.
I look at his perfect match and I read the following:
Hum he is divorced with two children and I have a feeling his wife
might not have been so fun in his eyes. Sounds like he has got baggage.
I decided to pass on new to the city and sent him my nice rejection
letter.
8PM - Artistic guy called and left a message that he has made a reservation
for our dinner date. I have to say he is scoring some major points with
his follow up as well as coming up with the plan. I think using the
phone for your communication is much more personal than email.
Thursday, September 22

6PM - Getting ready tonight for my first date with artistic guy. We
are having dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. I am feeling a
bit nervous as I am getting ready for the date. I am wondering what
he will look like and if there will be any chemistry. He only posted
one photo on his profile and it was a head shot. Tonight I am having
my pre-drink warm up and listening to my favorite tunes while trying
on half my wardrobe. I decided to get into the mode with some Depeche
Mode The Singles 86>98. Makes me feel like I am in a trance not to
mention sexy with some of the undertones of the tunes.
7:30PM - Went to the designated restaurant to meet artistic guy. He
found me first and yes he does look a bit different from his photo.
That first moment when you meet someone is not always a wonderful moment
as it can feel awkward and uncomfortable. It is like an unveiling and
you are meeting their true physical selves. They can no longer lie about
height, size or amount of hair left on their heads.
11PM - Driving home from date with artistic guy. He walked me to my
car which was the gentleman thing to do and he kissed me on my cheek.
The conversation definitely flowed during dinner or was it the amount
of wine?! We ended up sharing our meals (his suggestion) which shows
me he knows how to share. I could tell that he really liked me so I
am sure he will call again for another date and I figure if that is
the case I will go out again since it is hard to know from just one
date.

Months have gone by and I am surprised to hear from Law guy. Some of
these guys just seem to fall off the face of the earth only to resurface
in a few months. They are very unpredictable. You really need to keep
growing your crop. Not limiting yourself to just one type of produce.

9:30AM - Got a message from artistic guy. Boy he sure followed the
two day rule for calling right away. He says that he enjoyed our date
and wanted to know if I wanted to go to the symphony for a bit of culture
with him next Thursday. I do give him points for the follow up as well
as a plan for another date. I will think about it a bit as tonight I
am having fun with some friends.

Hum he seems to be repeating his profile in his email and notice no
questions about me it’s all about him. Too bad he did not run
a spell check and grammar check before sending this email. Than I see
he is a smoker which is one of my non-negotiable items plus he has two
children. Now just how spontaneous can he be?!
10PM - Decided to give out of state connection a call since he was
back from his trip. He was really glad to hear from me. Had a good time
talking on the phone.
Tuesday, September 27

8AM - Woke up this morning and I am starting to get a cold sore on
my lip!! I got a date with artistic guy this Thursday and I can’t
have a cold sore. I immediately start all the home remedies even putting
ice on my lip. I am freaking out over it!!
11AM - I am so unbelievably tired today. My glands are swollen. Decided
to cancel all my appointments and stay in bed. Rest will help me get
better for Thursday. If it is not better in the morning, I will cancel
my date on Thursday.
Wednesday, September 28

9AM - Woke up and immediately looked in the mirror. So glad to see
my cold sore has not gotten any bigger. Continue with the ice and home
remedies.
8PM - Call from artistic guy to firm up the plans for tomorrow night.
He has suggested a restaurant one in which I have never been and than
we are going to the symphony. I do like a man who has a plan. We shall
meet at the restaurant since I live on the north side of town. Good
no house cleaning today!
Thursday, September 29

2PM - Got a voice mail from chiropractor guy. We have been emailing
back and forth for a few weeks and have now moved to the phone. Listening
to his message I am having trouble understanding him. He is speaking
really slow too slow. I think he might have some type of speech impediment!
Always a good idea to talk on the phone before meeting anyone!
5PM - Getting ready for my date. Will be wearing a dress tonight just
have to decide on the shoes. So much grooming takes place for a date.
6PM - Driving to the restaurant when I get a call from a friend who
has news of a single girl’s engagement. Suppose there is someone
for everyone but when will be our turn we both say?! I tell my friend
about my cold sore which you can’t really see now but I am worried
about it being contagious. The past story of an ex-boyfriend accusing
me of giving it to him rings in my ears! I will not be able to kiss
my date tonight. How do I deliver this news? I don’t want to wait
until the end of the date thinking he will feel rejected. I told my
friend that I would mention it during dinner since he likes to share
by letting him know I can’t share with the reason than mention
kissing.
7PM - Artistic man is waiting for me by the door of the restaurant.
I walk up to him and he leans in to kiss me while taking my hand!! I
panicked and gave him my cheek to kiss. So I nervously told him that
I was contagious and mentioned my cold sore on my lip. A strange dynamic
seems to take over this date. I feel like he is quiet so when we sit
down at the table I explained again about my cold sore and swollen glands
and that I felt I was still contagious. Just wanted to be conscious
since someone accused of spreading it before. He thanks me for the concern
and being cautious but I am unsure if it has gone over well.
9PM - At symphony and artistic man has fallen asleep snoring! Either
he is not planning on seeing me again or just plain tired! I made a
joke of it when the show was over. He walked me to my car and kissed
me on the cheek. I said I was sorry about my cold sore. I was thinking
I would not be hearing from artistic man but we shall see. Only time
will tell the story!
Friday, September 30

Noon - Log into the site when I immediately get an IM from younger
guy! Geez I have not spoken to him in weeks! He has sent me one word
emails and when I responded, he never writes back! He now has the nerve
to say “Hey stranger!” I asked him why he writes me and
does not bother respond back to my emails. I find out he has not been
getting my emails. Well I told him he needs to fix his email problem.
Now he is saying do you want to go out again! Hello is he from another
planet?! I told him I would not mind being friends but he wants more.
So I end up having to tell him I did not feel a connection with him.
He keeps asking really?! Where we on the same date?! Had to cut him
off!!
3PM - So I decided to give chiropractor guy the benefit of the doubt
and give him a live call. Sometimes you never know about voice mail.
Also you got to keep juggling as many balls in the air as you can until
you have a commitment of being exclusive.
3:10 - Well I have to say that voice mail does not lie! Chiropractor
guy could not talk on the phone. He seemed to have trouble forming sentences!
I know it had nothing to do with nerves. He asks about meeting for Sunday
for coffee. Sunday? Well I already have plans. I said nice talking to
you and get off the phone! I immediately program my cell phone to recognize
his number so I get a warning.
3:15 - Chiropractor guy is phoning me again! I let voice mail get it.
He wants to know if I can talk on the phone tonight. What are we in
high school again?! No way. Sorry I don’t want to meet him. I
need to have a person who can speak at a normal rate. Is that asking
too much?!!
